Comments:

We are VERY involved in our Cowboy Church activities.........rodeoes, bull ridings, roping events, etc. All done to introduce others to Jesus, and see them saved, healed, delivered, and set free to the glory of a good God. We help them rise up to be strong Christian men, women, and children, that operate in God's Kingdom, prospering, and showing others how to accomplish their life's goals successfully. We teach and preach Jesus, "cowboy style".

School Story:

I wasn't much into school, when in High School. In fact, I was gone more than I was there, my Senior year, but still graduated with y'all. (How I'll never know) Partying was my lifestyle, back then. I regret some of my stupidity, but then again, who doesn't? I went to WSU, working on a degree in Fine Arts/Music Ed., but graduated from a Bible College with a degree in Theology, and Church Leadership. I know none of y'all would've believed that I would ever have become a Preacher, and neither did I. But God had other plans for my life. After over 40 years in the "car business" with great success, I retired in December. The majority of our time is spent raisin' up western-minded folks in the principles of the Bible, and travelling. We are looking forward to our Sunset years, wherever that'll be. Lol

What Elementary School (s) did you attend?

Stanley K-6g

What Junior High (s) did you attend?

Truesdell 7-9th g on wet

Favorite teacher (s):

2nd grade Mrs Huffman: taught me a love for reading.

4th grade Ms. Merkel: gave me a strong work ethic in studying. Kicked my butt and didn't let me slide on "getting by"

What's your favorite memory of West High?

Probably Graduation; I was so glad to be out of there.

Least favorite memory?

Race riots in 69.

Did you ever skip school?

All the time; my senior year, I was gone more than there. How I graduated God only knows. It must have been the extra credit I got for showing up every day the 2nd semester.

Thinking back - what 'crap' did you learn in high school?

The same crap the rest of you learned; drugs, sex, and rock and roll.
LOL

What did you want to do or think you were going to do when you finished high school?

I just wanted out. My way to success, I thought back then was singing in a Rock and Roll band. Life got in the way of that dream. But I've sung with several bands and Choral Groups, and still sing in a Bluegrass Group, and in Church I'm in charge of Special Music. So singing is still my passion.

Biggest thing you would do differently if you went back to your time at West High?

Play baseball, stay in class, and get more involved.

Where have you lived?

After graduation, I spent some time on the road, ending up in New Orleans for a few years. When I came to my senses, moved home and went to WSU. Met my wife, got involved in Church, got married and lived in Wichita about 10 years leading a home bible fellowship and teaching bible classes. We then lived in Indiana two years while attending Bible College. After graduation, we moved to Texas where we've been since 86-Waco, Austin, and now Liberty Hill.

If you don't live in the Wichita area, what do you miss the most? How often do you get back? What are your favorite things to do?

family and old friends.
once or twice a year, Holidays, and birthdays.
hang out with my family, Church activities-rodeo, etc. teach Bible classes, attend rodeo events, taking pictures

Famous or interesting people you have met:

Being an entertainer, and Minister, I have met lots of famous, almost famous, and interesting people. Being also in the car business over 40 years, I have met and interacted with some real characters. Having the privilege of working with and travelling with a well known Evangelist/ Rodeo Cowboy, Corey Ross, I get to meet and rub shoulders with some of the top Ministers, entertainers, and Rodeo people in the world. A few I'll mention: Willie Nelson, Freddie Powers, Ricky and Darrell Boen, ZZ Top drummer- Frank Beard, Yes front man-Ian Anderson, Kenneth Copeland, Jesse Duplantis, Tommy Brandt- ICM entertainer of the year, President George and Laura Bush, Governor Greg Abbott, Michael Dell, just to name a few.

Have you done something you told yourself you wouldn't?

Probably quite a bit, actually, LOL. There isn't much I haven't done, or at least tried, I guess.

What did you always want to do that you have not done yet?

Write a book. Now I finally have the time, it's time to get serious with it

What would we be surprised to know about you?

That I really am a Man of God. I've preached, taught, and mentored many places over the last 45 years. But my favorite is with the Cowboy Church we've been blessed to be a part of over the last 16 years. I do a lot of the Marryin' and Buryin' and Family Counselling. If they only knew.....Lol

Any words of wisdom?

Live like there's no tomorrow. Be the best you, you can be every day. Live and give uncommonly, and you will be astounded at the favor you'll enjoy.

Hard to believe it's been 50 years since we graduated. A lot of water's gone under the bridge, for sure. Our Celebration in October is long overdue for me. It's been many years since we've had much interaction with classmates. I'm looking forward to it. How about y'all?
