I first met Don Easter at College Hill Elementary School in Wichita, I think it was 1959-60. What is that, 3rd or 4th grade? We were "best friends" back then. He was a good friend too. My family moved away and eventualy, mostly, I forgot about Don. Then, one day in my Jr year , I caught a glimpse of him walking hurriedly out of the building with his sister. We never did reconnect. Just said "hi" as we passed each other in the halls. Several years back I got reaquainted with Don on Facebook. We had quite a few things in common and I enjoyed those conversations with him very much. I have not had any contact with him for awhile now, maybe 4 years. I was sorry to hear today about his passing. I hope for his family that their memories of Don are a blessing, as they have been to me.
