Randall Wayne Bauer, 71, of Bakersfield, CA passed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, after a gallant fight with his third cancer.

He was born on October 5, 1951, to Nadine and Arlyn Bauer in Russell, KS.

Randy grew up and attended schools in Wichita, KS. After attending Wichita State University, he was married to Bonnie Hoffman and they were blessed with two sons, Bret & Brian.

He worked in the heating and air conditioning business in Wichita, KS. Later he moved to Bakersfield, CA where he spent his career in the oil and gas industry working for El Paso Energy, Mojave Pipeline & Kern River Gas. He retired in 2020 and, although, he loved his work, his passion in life was riding motorcycles, camping, and touring this great nation.

He was married to Donna (Elliott) Schultz for almost 20 years. During that time, they enjoyed summer visits with the boys & seeing the highlights of California. They also toured the country together on Harley motorcycles & later he toured with friends or solo via his BMW. They enjoyed a wonderful trip to Italy in 2008 with family & friends to celebrate the completion of cancer treatments for his 2005 & 2006 episodes.

For the past seven years, he loved his partner, Cheary Binder, and together they shared & enjoyed some great road trips to Colorado, Kansas, and Oklahoma. They have jointly raised his beloved Queensland, Ginger. Cheary has been supportive & instrumental in providing attention to his healthcare details throughout this last cancer battle.

Randy is preceded in death by his parents, and many aunts & uncles.

Randy is survived by his sons Bret (Brynn) & Brian, his grandson Sebastian, and his brothers Chris Bauer (Joan), and David Bauer (Terri), his sister Shawn Kaiser, and aunts Loretta Kane, Dolly Bauer, and Yvonne Azeltine and several cousins, nieces & nephews.

Randy was a devoted St. John's Lutheran Church member for over 30 years and a longtime "silent" member of the Altar Guild. The family wishes to thank Hoffmann Hospice for their support & care during his final days.

A Celebration of Life for Randy will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 4500 Buena Vista Rd., Bakersfield, CA.

A second Celebration of Life will be held later at the Resthaven Chapel in Wichita, KS.
