Helen M Throckmorton

Helen M Throckmorton was born on September 5, 1907 in Crawford Township, Cherokee County, Kansas to Ralph Calvin and Nevada Martha (née Throckmorton) Throckmorton.  She graduated from Ottawa University in 1928 with a B.A. in English.  From 1929 to 1952 Helen taught in various public schools in Montgomery, Cherokee and Sedgwick counties, including Horace Mann Junior High in Wichita.  She joined the faculty of Wichita High School West in 1953 and taught there until her retirement at the end of the 1971 - 1972 school year.
