Kopper, Harvey R., 93, was born on July 17, l917 in Sublette, Kansas as one of thirteen children of Peter B. and Elizabeth Kopper. He married the love of his life, Phoebe Lahr Hillmon on Dec. 31, 1941, and together they raised 5 children. After serving in the Navy during WWII as an officer, Harvey received his Masters from Kansas State University. He taught Science and Math in the Wichita Public School System, the majority spent as Head of the Science Department at Wilbur Junior High. After retiring in 1982, Harvey and Phoebe traveled, enjoyed family visits which included endless games of Rook, and gardening. He was a faithful fan of the K-State Wildcats. Harvey moved to Lexington, Ky in 2007 to live with his youngest daughter and her family. His love of family never faltered. He will be greatly missed. Harvey is survived by 4 children: Martha (Doug) Lee, David (Shirley) Kopper, Jim (Bonnie) Kopper, and Robin (Tony) Reynolds, 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Phoebe, 12 siblings, and son Tom. Graveside service: 1pm, Thursday, July 7, 2011, Resthaven Cemetery 11800 W. Kellogg. Fellowship / meal at 2pm at Cross Road Fellowship Church, 7315 W. 13th. Memorial: Hospice of the Bluegrass, Lexington, Ky.
