Marjorie Ruth Woodin was born on September 23, 1920 in Wichita, Kansas to James Clayton and Bess Lee (née Cook) Woodin.  Ms Woodin married Ross Bader Patrick in 1945.   He was a civilian test pilot for Boeing.  On March 29, 1957 he died when the JB-52C Stratofortress he was piloting on a test run disintegrated.  Mrs Patrick married Herbert Kennard Arnold in 1983.  She taught business education classes at Wichita West from the 1964 - 1965 school year through the 1975 - 1976 school year.

Arnold, Marjorie Ruth Patrick (Woodin), age 93, passed away Monday, August 18, 2014. Memorial Service will be at 3:00 P.M., Thursday, August 21, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church. She was a lifetime resident of Wichita. Marjorie graduated from North High School and Wichita Municipal University. During World War II, she served in the American Military Red Cross. She earned an M.A. in Adult Guidance and Counseling from Wichita State and an M. S. in Adult Education from Kansas State University. She was the Adult Vocational Counselor for the Wichita Area Vocational Technical College from 1976 until 1983 when she retired. Marjorie was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wichita and was its most tenured member. She was a member of the D.J. Chapter of P.E.O., Sorosis Society at Wichita State (Delta Delta Delta), Lambda Tau Delta, the Wichita Historical Society, and Friends of Wesley Hospital. She was the first girl (and the first twin) born in Wesley Hospital at their current location. She was preceded in death by her father, J.C. Woodin; her mother, Bess Cook Woodin; her brother, William L. Woodin; and two husbands. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Marcia Patrick of Houston, TX; her son, Jim Patrick of Colorado Springs, CO; and her brother, Charles J. Woodin, Senior Partner with Foulston L.L.C. of Wichita; 3 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to First Presbyterian Church, 525 N.
