James William Ramsey

James (Jimmy) William Ramsey, 71, of Longton, KS, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024 in his home surrounded by family. He was born December 19, 1952 in Wichita, KS, the son of Harold and Bonnie (Kirk) Ramsey. He was a great husband, father, and leader to his family. 

Jim had a strong faith that he witnessed to his family each day of his life. He was not afraid of death because he knew he was going to a better place. 

Jim graduated from Wichita High School West in 1970. He worked for Safeway, RVP Products, and Cessna-Independence during his career. He was an awesome mechanic and could fix anything. 

He married Pauline Marie (Smith) Ramsey on June 16, 1973 and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 16, 2023. They met when they were 15 years old and were together from then on; married 51 years and together for 56 years. 

Jim was proceeded in death by his parents, Harold William and Bonnie (Kirk) Ramsey. 

Survivors include son, Jason William Ramsey (Crystal) of Longton, KS, daughter, Jamie Brianne (Ramsey) Goodwin (Stuart) of Independnece, KS, brother Steve Ramsey (Carolyn) of Denver, CO, sister, Karen Ramsey of Wichita, KS, and brother, Kirk Ramsey (Anita) of Knoxville, TN, his precious niece, Sheree Dawn (Heglin) Hiner of Catesby, OK. Jim was a father figure to David Paul (Shauna) Stout. His grandchildren are Brayden, Cayden, Caden, Lyric, Iris, Jenna, Rogen & Lincoln. 

There are no funeral services. They have elected to have Jim cremated and when Pauline passes, their ashes will be mixed together and strewn along the country roads in Elk County where they loved riding their four-wheelers. There will be a gravesite at Oak Valley, Kansas cemetery. We have such peace knowing he is with the Lord.
