A real loss to the 1970 class. One of our best leaders in sports and community. He and his family had a very difficult passing.

Steve was a good friend in high school and a distinquish member of the Country Acres crowd. We talked about joining the military together out of high school but he didn't bite and our paths split. A lot of living over 50 years has gone by and our contacts were few but good. Steve was a great person and innovative in his own way. He was the first to show the gang how to ignite an individual's natural gas. To his family a special thanks for the care and love given to him through these final years. I empathize with you and honor your love and strength. Rest in peace, Steve.

Also growing up in country acres, Steve was always larger than most his age.  To me, he always fit the description of " a gently giant".  Few piople had the patience and self control that Steve had in most situations, at that age.  (Probably a good thing for a lot of us)  After high school, didnt run into him much as I moved to Oklahoma, but did see him a few times a year while doing some work at Vulcan.  Was always as I remembered him, a person who I admired.
