Marcia Hill, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving husband and family on October 20, 2023, at the age of 71. She was born on September 22, 1952, in Ellwood City, PA to her parents, E. B. “Bill” and Marian Jones. Throughout her extraordinary life, Marcia touched the lives of countless individuals with her kindness, dedication, and immense love for her family.


In 1970, Marcia graduated from West High in Wichita, KS before attending Anderson University, in Anderson, IN. After completing a year of college, she dedicatedly served as a bus driver for the Wawasee Community Schools for 39 years where she was committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the students.

Marcia had an exceptional love for music and was blessed with incredible musical talent. She possessed a beautiful soprano singing voice and graced both the church choir and many audiences with her angelic voice as a soloist. Additionally, she showcased her exceptional piano skills by playing at North Webster elementary and junior high schools, as well as local churches. Her melodious performances uplifted spirits and instilled joy in all who had the pleasure of hearing her play and sing.

Beyond her musical pursuits, Marcia had a diverse range of interests. She was an ardent supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs football team and enjoyed cheering on the Detroit Lions with her husband. Marcia had a keen eye for fashion and appreciated the pleasures of shopping. Her keen sense of style radiated through every outfit she wore.

Marcia's talents extended beyond music and fashion; she was also a skilled baker. Her famous chocolate cake recipe was adored by all who tasted it and delighted family and friends on many special occasions

An animal enthusiast at heart, Marcia had a natural affinity for dogs. She shared her love by breeding various breeds such as Yorkies, Pomeranians, Shetland sheepdogs, Chihuahuas, and Maltese. Marcia truly possessed a special connection with animals and was known to be a "dog whisperer" by those who witnessed her genuine passion for her animals.

Marcia's proudest accomplishments were centered around her family, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Stephen; their children Chris (Alicia) Conkling, Jamie (Beverly) Conkling, and Erik (Anna) Conkling, and grandchildren Christian, Gracie, Ari, Reagan, Hudson, Jensen, Megan, Alex, and Nathan. She is further survived by her stepdaughter, Rebecca (Wes) Drake; stepsons, Stephen (Melissa) Hill and his children, Caleb and Elijah; and Christopher Hill. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents and stepson Richard Alan Hill. 

Titus Funeral Home – North Webster is entrusted with Marcia’s care. Family and friends gather at the funeral home, 8056 E 500 N, North Webster, on October 24, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at the North Webster Church of the Brethren, 7281 E 600 N, North Webster, at 11:00 AM with the door opening one hour prior at 10:00 AM. Rev. Robert Wyman and Rev. Tamra Gerber will be officiating.

Marcia was in a few of my classes during our three years at West.  Sadly, I never got to know her, but she was always friendly toward me.
