W Maxine Smith Stelovich

W Maxine Smith was born on 25 Jun 1922 in Blaine County, Oklahoma to Daniel Charles and Anna Evelyn (née Siegismund) Smith.  She graduated from Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College in 1944. Prior to joining the faculty at Wichita West for the 1968 - 1969 school year she taught at Littleton High School in Littleton, Colorado. She taught home economics at West High through the 1977 - 1978 school year and then taught at  Wichita Northwest until she retired in 1987.

Stelovich, W. Maxine, 89, retired Wichita, Kansas Home Economist Coordinator at West High and Northwest High School for 18 years passed away April 19, 2012. Maxine loved sewing, crafts, technology and golf. She helped organize ladies golf at Reflection Ridge and also an active member of ladies golf at Pawnee Prairie in which she helped with Junior Golf at both. Also, Maxine helped organize senior women's golf in Wichita. She was a former board member at the West Branch YMCA. Her survivors are husband, Thomas "Tom" Stelovich; daughter, Janet (Dennis) Emrich; grandson, Aaron Emrich; sister, Hazel (Clarence) Gilmore; nieces, Pat Gilmore, Rosanne (Chris) McAdam and nephew George (Debra) Phlager. Memorial service is 1:00 pm Tuesday, April 24 at St. Catherines of Siena Catholic Church. A reception will be held at 2:30 pm following the service at Reflection Ridge Club House.
