Esther Blanche Lewis

Esther Blanche Lewis was born on 24 Apr 1923 in Farmington, Missouri to Benjamin S and Esther B (née Crone) Lewis.  Esther was the twin sister of Elizabeth Maye Lewis. Ms Lewis graduated from the University of Kansas in 1944 with an A.B. degree in History.  She followed this with studies at Georgetown University in Washington DC and Syracuse University in New York.  She taught history at Bonner Springs High School and Claflin High School before joining the faculty at Wichita West the 1953 - 1954 school year.  Ms Lewis taught history, economics and other social studies classes at West High through the end of the 1977 - 1978 school year. She finished out her teaching career at Wichita High School Southeast.
