Betty Ann Barnes Putman

Betty Ann Barnes was born on October 19, 1929 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Pinkney Winslow and Nannie (née Goodner) Barnes.  She taught business administration at West High from the 1969 - 1970 school year until her retirement in 1989.

Putman, Betty Ann, 77, loving wife, mother, grandmother and retired teacher at West High for 20 yrs, died Jan. 25, 2007. She was a member of Phi Mu Sorority at Tulsa University. Funeral services are Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007 at 10:00 am. at Resthaven Mortuary. She was preceded in death by parents, Pinkney and Nanny; brothers, Edgar Barnes, Billy Barnes, Eugene Barnes; and sister Marguerite Zerby. Survivors are husband of 58 years James H. Jr. "Jim"; sons, Steve, Stan and wife Jan, Randy and wife Kathy; daughter, Sandy Riffel and her husband Scott all of Wichita; grandchildren, Janea Putman, Kyle Riffel, Kelsey Riffel, Mason Putman, Spencer Putman, Kaity Riffel, Brogen Putman, Maddi Putman, AJ Putman, Kit Riffel and Megan Putman. She was an avid supporter of all of her childrens and grandchildrens activities. A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association.
